Vitiligo

The World Vitiligo Day is celebrated on June 25. The aim is to raise global awareness about vitiligo. Vitiligo occurs in 1-2% of the population worldwide, it is generally classified as an autoimmune disorder: a disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks its own cells or organs. The most common symptom of vitiligo is depigmentation of the skin.

There is no cure, but there are treatments for vitiligo that can be prescribed by a dermatologist.
